We planned these tours for people like ourselves, and we like to be comfortable. We don’t need fancy or luxury, but we do like to stay in places which have character and charm where possible, and we need clean and comfy.
We like to stay in places that are appropriate for and preferably enhance our experience.
For example, if we’re on safari we don’t mind camping (as long as someone else is doing the cooking!) as it makes African safaris exciting as well as affordable. However if we’re in Peru we’d prefer a cosy inn or simple town hotel close to the places we want to be.
You’ll find that we sometimes offer accommodation upgrades. This is to keep things flexible for you (you might fancy a real treat one night!) , and we also recognise that some places we have chosen might not be to everyone’s taste, such as homestays.
So the hotels are our personal recommendations (based on comfort, appropriateness and down-to-earth price), but you can sometimes override our choice.
