Half day walking safari at Saadani
On the Selous, Spice and the Coast holiday you spend some time in the excellent and little-visited Saadani Game Reserve north of Dar es Salaam. This is both a beach and bush location. In order to keep things flexible for you on this trip, we've not included safaris as you may simply want to chill out on the beach!However you could take an exciting walking safari here. There is increasingly good wildlife in this park, with four of the 'Big Five' (no rhino), giraffe, reedbuck, waterbuck, eland, zebra, buffalo, warthog and smaller antelopes. The lion population is increasing too, though on a walking safari you don't really want to bump into a lion! You're going to cover less ground than on a game drive of course, so you will concentrate more on the smaller animals and the excellent birdlife. A walking safari is a great way to really feel like you're in Africa though.(Also see the game drive options too).
