Description

This extension has been designed to be taken after our Tanzania safaris or a Kilimanjaro climb.

Fumba Beach Lodge is a 26 room property set in 40 acres of lovely wilderness, with 2kms of seafront and 3 exclusive secluded beaches. The rooms are set in the gardens and are sea facing with great ocean views. They are spacious and simply furnished. All have en-suite bathroom and private terrace, ideal for relaxing in privacy, enjoying the fine views.

The open air restaurant serves local fresh seafood as well as traditional international cuisine in a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. There is a bar, constructed from a sailing dhow, on the beach. Enjoy a refreshing drink here, in the shade of a baobab tree, listening to the waves. What a spot to watch the sunset! A swim in the clifftop pool is a perfect way to cool off and enjoy the sea views.

The staff are friendly and professional and can arrange a varierty of watersports and island excursions for you, including the full day Safari Blue trip, which takes you snorkelling in the Menai Bay Conservation Area. Scuba diving is also available from the lodge. Alternatively, why not spend your time strolling along the beach, relaxing by the pool and on your private terrace, enjoying the tranquility of this lovely hotel.

Detailed Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly from Dar es Salaam, Kili or Arusha to Zanzibar (flight not included). You'll be met on arrival at Zanzibar airport and transferred to Fumba Beach Lodge. Time to relax! (D)
  2. Days 2-4: You have 3 full days in which to relax on the exotic island of Zanzibar. You can do as little, or as much, as you wish. It's entirely up to you.... (B,D)
  3. Day 5: You'll be collected and taken back to Zanzibar airport for your onward flight (flight not included). (B)  

Is it for you?

Ideal for anyone wanting a few days to relax in a quiet island setting, with no other lodges nearby. Watersports and island excursioons can be arranged. Good locatioon for diving.

Best times to go

November to March are the best months for snorkelling and diving, although these can be done year round. Other watersports are good from June onwards. The long rains last from April till May. This property is closed from 20th December to the New Year

Getting there

This extension starts and ends in Zanzibar, which is served by Dar es Salaam. The flight time is 15 minutes. We can provide all the connecting internal flights for you to join this to your itinerary.
