In Cape Town you get to see all the fabulous sights which cannot be missed, such as Table Mountain, the Castle, the market, Houses of Parliament and Bo-Kaap. You'll also have plenty of free time to explore this exciting city at your leisure. On the full day Peninsula Tour you will take in the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, the penguins at Boulders' Beach and the Cape of Good Hope plus the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens. A guided hike on Table Mountain shows you the gorgeous cape scenery.
Further afield from Cape Town you get to experience the 'real' South Africa with a visit to a township to learn about the ways of life. A walk around the townships will be eye-opening, interesting and fun and you'll meet some wonderful people here and even learn some cooking skills!
The final part of the trip is in the stunning Winelands, and what can be better than a full day tour of wine, cheese and chocoloate? You will get to try a variety of wines from a number of different wineries, as well as tasting some delicous cheese, olives and chocolate!

This holiday is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Adults and children alike should really enjoy the variety this trip offers. All the accommodation is good quality, though the homestay will obviously be more quirky and unique than guest house accommodation. Please ask for more details if you're unsure about this aspect of the holiday, but we've always found that this is a highlight for most people.
This trip can be taken at any time of the year. October to March the weather is usually hot/warm and dry. Winter (June to August) can be very cool, overcast and sometimes wet.
This holiday starts and ends in Cape Town. We can arrange flights from the UK. You would normally fly out on an overnight flight the day before this itinerary and on the way back would also take an overnight flight arriving back in the UK the day afer this itinerary finishes.

Giving to grassroots projects:
Our registered charity, The Tribes Foundation, is currently raising funds for a project in South Africa. The kindness of strangers can make a big difference, so if you’re a travel philanthropist considering donating to a worthwhile charity, please consider backing this excellent community project.
The Calabash Trust is a charity based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It works with poor communities based in the urban townships of Port Elizabeth. While the primary focus is nutrition and education, they also engage in job creation and skills training.
We will shortly have a page with photos of the school on www.the-tribes-foundation.org.
